Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

Preamble

The Afreecalance Code of Ethics establishes the fundamental principles of integrity, mutual respect and professionalism that must guide all interactions between Freelancers, Clients and the platform. By using our services, you commit to respecting these standards which guarantee a reliable and prosperous working community in West Africa.

Article 1: Profile Integrity and Transparency

Honesty of skills and experience

Every User, Freelancer or Client, must present truthful and accurate information. Freelancers must not falsify their references, level of experience or portfolio. Clients must provide clear and realistic Mission descriptions.

  • Freelancer: Do not overestimate your skills and guarantee the authenticity of your diplomas or certifications.
  • Client: Define mission needs without concealing costs or constraints.

Article 2: Respect, Communication and Non-Discrimination

The Afreecalance Platform is a professional workspace. Any form of discrimination, harassment, abusive language or disrespectful behavior is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate sanctions.

Communication rules

Communications must be constructive and respectful, regardless of the interlocutor's status. Feedback, whether positive or negative, must be professionally formulated.

Fundamental rule: Treat all members of the Afreecalance community with the same level of courtesy and fairness that you expect in return.

Article 3: Quality, Commitment and Freelancer Deadlines

The Freelancer undertakes to provide work of a quality consistent with market professional standards and the requirements defined in the Mission specifications.

  • Respect for deadlines: Agreed deadlines must be considered as a contractual commitment. Any foreseeable delay must be communicated to the Client immediately.
  • No Mission abandonment: A launched Mission can only be abandoned in case of force majeure or mutual agreement, and according to the platform's dispute procedure.
  • Complete delivery: Work must be delivered in its entirety and include all promised elements.

Article 4: Confidentiality and Intellectual Property

Client information protection

The Freelancer is required to treat all information obtained as part of a Mission (data, documents, strategies) as strictly confidential and never disclose it to third parties.

Intellectual Property (IP)

Unless otherwise mentioned in the Mission contract, the intellectual property of the delivered work is transferred to the Client upon complete and validated payment. Freelancers must guarantee that their deliverables do not violate any third-party copyright or IP rights.

Article 5: Non-Circumvention and Anti-Fraud Rule

Afreecalance provides a secure service (fund escrow, payment guarantee). To maintain this environment, bypassing the Platform is prohibited.

  • All communications concerning Mission terms and payment must remain on the Platform.
  • It is strictly forbidden to propose or accept direct payments outside the Platform's escrow system for Missions initiated on Afreecalance.
  • Any fraudulent behavior, phishing attempt or use of fake accounts will be immediately sanctioned by permanent account deactivation.

Article 6: Sanctions and Reporting

Any violation of this Code of Ethics must be reported immediately to the Afreecalance team via support. Violations may result in warnings, profile rating degradation, temporary suspension, or permanent account deactivation.
